5 Arrested in Connection to Winona Armed Drug Robbery

(KWNO) Four men and a juvenile were taken into custody by Winona Police on suspicion of armed robbery on Thursday afternoon.
The robbery victim told police that the five individuals met the victim on the St. Mary’s campus to buy marijuana. One of the men showed the victim a pistol and took 2 ounces of marijuana along with $27 of cash from the victim.
According to officers, the victim said the five suspects got into a vehicle and left the campus. The victim told police he was chasing the men when one of the suspects fired a gunshot into the air and the vehicle took off east on Highway 14 towards Winona.
Police say an officer spotted the suspected vehicle at the Kwik Trip on Huff and Sarnia Streets roughly 20 minutes after they received the call. Four of the five suspects were apprehended at the Kwik Trip.
Police found and arrested the fifth suspect later in the afternoon. St. Mary’s alerted the campus to the incident.
The university and police say no injuries were reported. No formal charges have been announced as the incident has been turned over to the Winona County Attorney’s Office.
