A Minnesota House committee has endorsed legislation that bans people from holding a cell phone while behind the wheel. The “hands-free” bill came before members of the House Ways and Means committee Monday morning.
Representative Frank Hornstein says it’s a popular bill whose time has come.
Representative Peggy Scott questioned whether there should be exceptions for drivers who may have a hearing disability. The bill was approved on a voice vote - it now heads to the House floor.
