Changing of the Guard for Trempealeau Co. Sheriff
TJ Leverentz | Jan 9, 2019 AT 2:50 pm
After 42 years of service, Trempealeau County Sheriff Richard Anderson is retiring.
Brett Semingson was sworn into the county sheriff’s position Tuesday morning. Semingson has served with the Trempealeau County sheriff’s office for the past 28 years and is a sheriff for the first time in his law enforcement career.
Semingson defeated Kevin Deeren in the 2018 November election. Semingson’s swearing-in marks another notable change to Trempealeau County’s law enforcement landscape. In fall of 2018, Trempealeau County District Attorney Taavi McMahon was ousted by a recall vote.
