Governor Tim Walz is ordering flags at half-staff Wednesday in honor and remembrance of peace officers killed or injured in the line of duty.
A ceremony will be held at 12:30 today at the Winona County Law Enforcement Center. The Winona City Council and County Board will be on hand to issue proclamations.
Minnesota lost two law enforcement officers in 2018. Corrections Officer Joseph Gomm was killed by an inmate at Stillwater prison in July and Officer Joe Parise died of a heart attack after responding to an inmate assault in September at the Oak Park Heights prison.
