Leighton to Acquire Alexandria Stations

Leighton Enterprises, Incorporated is adding to their family.
Leighton signed a purchase agreement for Paradis Broadcasting of Alexandria, Minnesota.
Paradis Broadcasting owns three radio stations, News Talk KXRA AM, a classic rock station, KXRA FM and KXRZ FM, known as Z99, which plays a variety format of contemporary music. They are known locally as the Voice of Alexandria.

Leighton Enterprises CEO Bob Leighton said in a statement, “Expanding to Alexandria is a natural fit for us with our stations in St. Cloud, Fergus Falls, Perham, and Detroit Lakes. All local staff in Alexandria will be retained, and the stations will continue operating as usual.

The transaction is subject to FCC review and approval which takes typically 90-120 days. The last radio acquisition Leighton Enterprises, Inc. made was in 2015 when the company purchased ten stations in Winona, Fergus Falls, and Perham. Leighton also owns five stations in Grand Forks, ND.
Leighton Enterprises was founded in the 1950s by Al and Jean Leighton and has grown to include Leighton Broadcasting, Leighton Interactive, Leighton Events, LB Video Productions, Magnetic Spark and Granite City Speedway.
