(KWNO) A St. Charles man is behind bars after taking a two-year-old pit bull and a backpack from a St. Charles home over the weekend.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim told police that 41-year-old Jack W. Lyke had entered her home on Saturday morning. The woman was in a relationship with Lyke and Lyke had been there the night before to try and take the dog.
The victim also suspected Lyke due to her back door being broken open and cigarette butt being left behind. The complaint says Lyke has a history of leaving behind signs he was in his victim's home.
Lyke is being held in the Winona County jail and faces a felony burglary charge.
