A spring storm promises snow to rain to a wintry mix for the region Wednesday into Friday.

Dan Jones, of the National Weather Service, says the Winona area can expect mostly rain with snow accumulations near an inch. Higher elevated areas could see 1-3 inches of heavy snow.

The Mississippi River is expected to crest to 16.1 feet after the storm. As of Tuesday evening, the river was measured at 15.2 feet.
