(Learfield) The University of Minnesota is rewarding football coach P-J Fleck with a seven-year contract extension that will keep him in with the program through 2026.

There were no details released and the contract still must be approved by the Board of Regents. Fleck initially signed an 18-million-dollar, five-year contract when he was first hired in 2016.

He received one-year extensions in 2017 and 2018. His current three-point-six-million dollar salary for this season ranks 11th among the 14 coaches in the Big Ten.

The Gophers are 8-0 for the first time since 1941 and face unbeaten Penn State Saturday at T-C-F Bank Stadium.
