(KWNO) The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will make its stop in Winona on Dec. 9.
The train is scheduled to arrive at the Amtrak Station, 65 East Mark St., from 3:30 pm to 4:15 pm. The train viewing event will feature live music by Meghan Patrick, Tanika Charles, and Kelly Prescott.
Canadian Pacific says the purpose of the train is to raise hunger awareness in the communities it stops in. The rail line’s website says the event has raised over $15 million and has collected 4.5 million pounds of food since its inception in 1999.
The train stop also coincides with Merchant Bank’s annual 10 Days of Giving, which is going on from Dec. 1-10. Those attending the train stop are asked to bring non-perishable food items or monetary donations.
