Fifth COVID-19 Death Reported in Winona County

(KWNO) The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) confirmed Winona County’s fifth COVID-19 death on Thursday.
It was one of 11 deaths reported, making it the deadliest day of the pandemic, according to MDH. The county’s five victims range in age from 76-100.
Residents confirmed to have the virus range in age from 20-104 according to data from Winona County Health and Human Services. In all, Winona County has 20 confirmed cases. No new cases or deaths were reported in Wabasha, Fillmore and Houston Counties.
Statewide there are 50 deaths out of 1,242 confirmed cases of COVID-19. As of Thursday, 145 people are hospitalized, with 63 in intensive care.
675 people have recovered from the virus and no longer need to self-isolate.
