(KWNO) Winona County residents have until Sunday to get their free flu shot.

Winona Health has been offering vaccinations for free throughout October. A drive-through vaccination event will happen at the Winona Central Fire Station, 451 E 3rd St, Wednesday from 3-7 p.m.

Residents can get a free shot at the Dakota Community Center from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and 3-7 p.m. Thursday. Free vaccinations are also available for the rest of the month at Winona Health’s Parkview Office Building.

Melanie Tatje with Winona County Public Health says getting the vaccine reduces the chances of a flu-caused hospitalization, which can help maintain supplies as hospitals begin to fill up across Minnesota.

Flu shots will still be available for the comming months. For a list of remaining vaccination hours and locations, click here.
