(KWNO) Sen. Jeremy Miller (R-Winona) said he was shocked and disappointed with Gov. Tim Walz’s decision to allow bars and restaurants to only reopen for limited outdoor seating.
Walz yesterday announced that on June 1 bars and restaurants may reopen for outdoor seating with a maximum capacity of 50 patrons. Salons may reopen at 25% capacity. Churches and health clubs cannot-open yet.
During an interview on KWNO’s In the Know Thursday, Miller said he’s heard from many constituents and local restaurants who were angered by the Governor’s decision.
“They are very concerned about making their next bank payment and loan payment. Many have said if this continues, they may not be able to open,” said Miller.
Minnesota bars and restaurants have been closed to in-person dinning since March 17.
