(Learfield) The Minnesota Office of Traffic Safety says even though state roads are almost empty these days, there’s still danger.
Despite the low volume of traffic, 24 fatal crashes were reported in Minnesota over the last three weeks are actually double the number during the same period last year. The Minnesota State Patrol is reporting a surge in drivers going too fast.
28 people died in crashes since March 16. That compares to 13 last year during the same period, 15 in 2018, or 17 in 2017.
