(KWNO) Winona Area Public Schools (WAPS) will begin distance instruction on March 31.
Governor Tim Walz extended the statewide school closure to May 4 yesterday. In a letter to the WAPS community, Superintendent Dr. Annette Freiheit said district staff has used the past two weeks to plan and implement distance learning at all grade levels.
The district is finalizing their plans and will notify families by Friday. Packets of material are available for households without internet access.
District buildings will be closed. All activities, events and facility rentals are canceled or postponed
