(KWNO) Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers has issued a statewide mask mandate.
Starting Aug. 1, face coverings are required at indoor public buildings throughout Wisconsin. It’s the first major state-wide emergency order Evers has made since the state supreme court struck down his stay home order in May.
Exemptions include anyone under the age of five or those with a health condition.
The order comes as cases in Buffalo County have nearly tripled since July 7. Trempealeau county remains in the high-risk category as cases there continue to rise.
