Winona City Council Supports Passenger Train

(KWNO)The Winona City Council passed a resolution supporting the addition of a second passenger train at its Tuesday night meeting.
The line would connect the Twin Cities, Milwaukee, and Chicago while making stops in Winona. An Mn DOT study found the second line would add over 15,000 passengers and $180,000 in additional tourism dollars per year.
Minnesota and Wisconsin would have to pay for $10 million in track improvements. Governors Tim Walz and Tony Evers have signaled support for adding a second line.
