Winona State has announced that Julie Hennessy has stepped down as the Women’s Golf Coach. Xenia Straight has been chosen to replace Hennessy, effectively immediately. “I’d like to thank Julie for her time and dedication over the past six years” said Athletic Director, Eric Schoh. “She has left the program in a place where they can have continued success in the future. I welcome Xenia to the Warrior family and I’m confident she will be a fantastic addition to our staff.”
A native of El Salvador, Straight escaped the civil war when she was 17. She was a team leader and manager in the airline service industry for nearly 20 years managing hundreds of employees. She has owned several businesses, including a consulting service for Airline Chefs. She grew up playing soccer but has since fallen in love with the game of golf. Xenia says "I am truly honored that Eric Schoh has given me this opportunity to coach a great group of Ladies. I love Winona State and everything it represents, I can't wait until we get the fall season started." Straight has served as a volunteer assistant with the men’s program for the last two years.
She is married to Men’s Golf Coach, Jeff Straight, and has two sons.
