(KWNO) Cotter Schools has begun work on its Vision 2020 building project.
Thanks to a gift from the Steve and Barbara Slaggie Family Foundation, renovation of the existing Roger Bacon building is underway to create a 21st-century classroom building for grades 7-12.
Initial schematic designs call for the renovation of all the existing classrooms, construction of a cafeteria, and the building of a new residence hall for international students.
Approximately 85% of the existing Roger Bacon building will be renovated, preserving much of the solid infrastructure and using elements of significance from the building.
Neighborhood meetings will be convened in the coming weeks to share information about specific elements of the project. Currently, all 385 students are sharing space in St. Teresa and St. Cecilia until the anticipated completion date of spring 2021.
