Rep. Gene Pelowski (DFL-Winona) is making a push in St. Paul to replenish the state’s disaster fund.
Pelowski said on an interview on “In the Know” that he believes a bill to replenish the state’s disaster fund will be on the governor’s desk by the end of the session.
The state disaster fund allows money to be appropriated for natural disaster clean-up if the legislature is not in session. If the fund were to run empty, the legislature would have to reconvene for a special session before any funds are appropriated.
Pelowski also added the house is moving forward, in bi-partisan fashion, to fund statewide broadband.
